 Loss Support

No matter where you are in your pregnancy, if you are experiencing or expect to experience the loss of your pregnancy and/or baby, I first want you to know how sorry I am for your loss. Whether sudden or expected, the loss of a pregnancy and/or a child and all the dreams and possibilities they represented is nearly impossible to articulate into words. It is real and the grief you feel is valid and normal. And you are not alone. As a loss parent myself, I have been where you are and I am here to help you through it. The support I offer as a loss doula is similar to the support I do as a birth doula. However, support through pregnancy loss is more complex and specialized.

What does loss support look like?

As with all of my services, the support and care you receive will be entirely personalized to fit your specific desires and needs. Some things you can expect to discuss with me include (but aren’t limited to)….

  • education surrounding the particular type of loss you are experiencing (miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, fatal diagnosis, still birth, etc.)

  • coping and comfort measures (physical, mental, and emotional)

  • birth and loss planning (ex: miscarriage, home birth, hospital birth, mementos, photography, memorial/funeral services)

  • in-person support during the loss/birth

  • after loss/birth support (ex: self care and support planning, meal train coordination, in-home visits)

  • NICU support and companionship (if applicable)

  • referrals to other sources of support, including but not limited to photographers, financial assistance, counseling, support groups, etc.

If you’re interested in another form of support that you don’t see on this list that you’d like to discuss, or you would like to speak with me about supporting you during your loss, please send me a message.
